I am very much obliged to the author for allowing me to read his “Jnyan-Malini,” in manuscript. In compliance with his wishes to express my opinion on the book, I have great pleasure in stating that it is a collection of good poems. They show that the author is a close observer of nature and has applied his mind to the contemplation of several metaphysical problems. The poems abound in interesting reflections. In them there is real poetry. The special merit of these poems is that they are written in chaste Assamese in a very attractive style and show that lofy thoughts can be expressed in our language. I believe that this book when it is published will be read by the public with interest and may be profitably introduced in the higher classes in our schools. I have no doubt that they will receive due consideration from the educational authorities.
