 দীন—তেওঁৰ কথা তুমি বিশ্বাস কৰানে?

 চাহাব—কিয় নকৰিম?

 দীন—তেৱোঁ যদি মই কোৱা কথাকে কয়, মানিবানে?

 চাহাব—মানিব পাৰোঁ।

 দীনবন্ধুৱে বেগটো মেলি কিতাব এখন উলিয়াই তাৰে এডোখৰ চাহাবক পঢ়িবলৈ দিলে। চাহাবে একান্ত মনে পঢ়িলে। পঢ়া হ’লত কিছু সময়ৰ পিচত ঘূৰাই দিম বুলি কিতাপখন লৈ কেবিনত সোমাল[*]  অলপ পিচতে চাহাব ওলাই আহি দীনবন্ধুক কেবিনলৈ মাতিলে। দীনবন্ধুৱে ক'লে—“মাফ কৰিবা, মই তৃতীয় শ্ৰেণীৰ যাত্ৰী হৈ তাত সোমাব নোৱাৰো। প্ৰয়োজন হ'লে ইয়াতে কথা পাতিব পাৰোঁ।
