[ ৭ ] noticeable is that sonne of the words are so artistically sclected that their very sounds cxpress the senscs. What constitutes the supreme attraction of his work is his happy knack of expressing his lofty thoughts in lonely Assamese words, pure and simple, whicli go to show how rich is our so-called “corruption" language in point of its indigenous vocabulary. The region of poetry is, in my opinion, the proper ficld of author's literary activity and it is hopcd that his labours in this direction will be crowned with success. The book has already met with a favourable reception in the hands of the public as it is borne out by the large assortment of testiinonials, and the Text-Book Committee | may fairly and wisely prescribe it as a Text-Book in the Middle Vernacular and Middle English Schools.
