instead of which he was abused right and left. Such were the thunders from his respected father, "Go my son, get out from my home. I have no connection with such a foolish son. Love with a girl belonging to another religion is how absurd!! You must not be forgiven till you swear not to commit it again." He said no more but leaned against his chair. There the lion lay.

Helplessly she was waiting for his arrival. Everything on earth seemed like a big zero. The whole world was in the negative for her. The breeze came to keep her cool and at the same time the dry wind blew to dry her tears. Patience came to keep her alive and the sunshine pierced her room in the form of blessing.

In the meantime he arrived. But what could he bring to the restless soul? Strange enough, he begged her pardon to forget and forgive him totally.... Why—?....The shameless traitor....No,.... he became mad.

Then on the next morning, the Hostel Superintendent was reported that a girl had escaped from the same, leaving a single letter only. Unfortunetly it bore no personal address to investigate about. It followed thus :—

Dear mine, I have come from you for a long period of time. I don't want to stay where casteism is still alive-where there are such thoughts as Hindu. Muslim, Naga, etc. Love is heaven. Why there is such restriction? What is the religion? Does it teach is to hate each other? Does it separate us one from the other? No, only our conception, towards religion, is in the wrong.

Don't we worship the same God? Are we not children of the same Creator ? Don't we belong to the same world? Is there any differnce in our flesh and blood? Who can say and when......

To day I repent not because of losing you—but I repent to see that we are proceeding in a wrong way which will destroy us all in near future. Why have we forgotten the thought of brotherhood? Who kept it away from us?... Try to make understand the people their wrong ...Then..only.... then you will see me again,"

—Yours
