PREFACE.
This book has been prepared with a special view to the requirements of candidates for the Middle Vernacular and Middle English Examinations, the recent syllabuses published in the Assam Gazette dated the 10th. February, 1926 having been consulted to render the book as complete as possible. The matter included is sufficient for the students of both the Group II and Group III.
The first portion is devoted to the Province and to India in diminishing details, which the Second portion is devoted to Geography of the World in general and number of maps have been added to show Rainfall, British Possesions &c. The Continents of Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America are taken up in order and the countries of each are treated fully.
The last portion deals with British Empire in detail and with rudiments of Physical Geography.
The characteristic of the book is the innumerable maps and diagrams to make it more attractive and comprehensible.
